
During the recent housing boom, it seems people would buy anything. They didn't necessarily have to like the house, because it would be worth more next month. This has all changed. And "curb appeal" means something again.
"In today's real estate market with buyers having so many homes to choose from, the exterior appeal is critical," according to Karen Timmer, a real estate broker in Washington state. "Buyers will now decide on whether or not to look inside a home based on the exterior appearance."
Remodeling and Realtor magazine's report that upscale siding replacement is the best return on any remodeling, replacement or addition projects. Upscale siding replacement had a 10% better return on your investment than a kitchen remodel. And a 15% higher return than a new deck.*
